The founders of ExtendMyStaff, Inc. set out on a mission to create a marketplace where consultants looking for flexible and challenging project work could meet companies needing help when employees were on leave, over extended, or not able to take on incremental project based work. The idea to create this marketplace was based on hearing stories of other executives, hiring managers, and human resource professionals in both small start-up organizations and large companies trying to navigate traditional job boards, free job boards, large social media sites, and hiring traditional staffing agencies to find talent. Especially in the case of small start-ups, we found CFO's trying to write employee handbooks, managers recruiting staff because no recruiter was onsite, CEO's managing legal contracts, or payroll clerks filling in for HR generalists.

With a keen eye to making it easier to find project consultants, we started ExtendMyStaff. The founders met at a large Fortune 500 company where resources and budgets came easy and both left to work in small high tech companies in Austin. In addition to doing jobs beyond their job title, they were tasked with networking to identify resources willing to work at a price that matched their limited budgets. The online search resources available often required an expensive posting which was cost prohibitive or if the site was free, they were burdened with resumes that were not a match. Many colleagues in their network repeated the same story.

The Founder, Linda Blackmon

Linda has 15+ years as a human resource and talent acquisition leader in the recruiting industry, Fortune 500 and start-up environments. Her previous experience includes consulting and advising C-Level executives in all areas of talent attraction, human resources support, and talent development. She is deeply interested in working with companies that recognize hiring the best resource available leads to more innovative and creative ways to solve problems, especially when changing their workforce model is critical to preserving the bottom line. Linda continues to consult with individual companies on an ongoing basis. She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and three children.

Director of Client Services, Jaime Thomas

Jaime has over 12+ years of human resources experience. She has helped many notable small-to-medium organizations including Demand Media, WhaleShark, and Green Mountain Energy in a variety of human resources positions or projects. She has been instrumental in helping create, manage, and implement recruiting programs, initiatives, and solutions to hire the best available talent. Jaime continues to consult with companies on special projects in need of a talent acquisition strategy and training and development programs. She is dedicated to continuously improving the customer experience with ExtendMyStaff and is responsible for leading our consultant and community building teams. Jaime is a graduate of Austin College and holds an MBA from St. Edwards University. She lives in Austin, Texas.
